Where does IT go?

You know that feeling, right? The feeling when you get something new, or when you are about to do something different, start a new job, find a new friend....whatever the case may be, there is that feeling. The feeling of excitement, you just can't wait to do or have that thing that will make you so happy!

It's like a child in a toy store. Every child will walk down the toy ailes and gaze at all the stuff they don't have and point at what they want. So you buy them a new toy...and you can just see the excitement in their eyes, they can't wait to get home and play with it, right?

I love that feeling, but have you noticed how quick it comes upon us, just as quick... it leaves us. We are left feeling not so excited anymore. Think of that child, how often do you see a kid get a new toy and after a day of playing with it, it ends up in a toy box with everything else they own? No more excitement, no more happy....

Why are we like this? It seems we can never be completely satisfied. We get so pumped up about something, and then it's gone. It seems we are always looking for something different, something new to fulfill that happy place.

So where am I going with this....? I don't know, it is just something I have observed over the last couple weeks and thought it was just a topic people needed to think about. Are we happy? Is God in control of our life? Are we always looking for something new and exciting? Why can't we just be satisfied with what we have or what we are involved in? Why do we get so bored, or discontent?

We are here for one mission, and one mission only....to lead people to Christ, but first we need to see where our own lives are with Christ...are we ready for what God has in store for us? Are you ready for him to use you? Are you excited?! -and if you are, how are you going to stay excited about CHRIST?

It's All Around You...

It is very easy to wake up in the morning and think about at all the things we either don't have , or just be grouchy because something isn't going our way. We have heard this time and time again, "you are rich", "be grateful for what you have ", but do we really stop to think what that means?

For many of us, we have never seen what anything outside of the United States looks like, we do not know how people live, what they eat, or what their homes look like. We wouldn't think about walking 10 miles to work, or going a night without dinner. If we want something, we usually get it, or find a way to get it.

I am just realizing how truly blessed we are....If you don't want to see poverty here in the US or even in your own town, you don't have to....its very easy to ignore and pretend it's not there. For me, I am seeing it more and more....and it is making me realize what I have and what I don't need.

We know we are rich, so lets start acting like it. What I mean by that is, give things away you don't use or don't need to someone who would value it. Stop ignoring what you see or what God places in front of you to see and start doing something about it. I heard the other day, one of our friends wanted to give away their car.....! WOW, how could a family of 3 get around with only 1 car? (that is what many of us think, right?) So lets be radical, and change lives. There are so many places in town that you can go and either donate clothes, or find out who needs stuff and then do it!

To buy or not to buy
Do I need it or want it?

If I have it, do I use it?
If I don't use it, will I give it?

You may benefit from it,
But wait, I may need it someday,

Can I give it?
Can I let go?
Where are my priorities?

God says, give to those in need,
Care for those who grieve,

If we hold on and don't let go,
We might as well just no.

Jesus said yes for you
Why don't you try saying YES too!

Why am I here?

Why am I here?

The world is so large and I am so small
Why am I here?

So many people, places and things
Why am I here?

The world says, “You want it, you can have it”
Broke? There is still a way…
Why am I here?

I am told, “Worry about yourself and be happy”
Why am I here?

There is so much hurt all around us, pain, anger, bitterness
Why am I here?

There is never enough time in a day; it seems our priorities are work then family
Why am I here?

I try to make a difference, but what can one person do?
Why am I here?

The world is spinning, time is passing, and we are aging
Why am I here?

Are we to tell others, or just keep it in?
Why am I here?

It’s not easy being different; the world turns its back on you
Why am I here?

The truth must be told, it can’t stay a secret, they need to hear what will save them
But why am I here?

I kneel down to pray for all who are hurt and lost, I simply say
God, why am I here?

I know what I need to do, there is no turning back
Stand up and proclaim what I believe and pray God will lead the way
I will follow his straight and narrow path,
This world has lost its grip,
I only hope I can reach them before it’s too late.

There is no time to waste, every minute counts.
So what has God revealed?

This is why I am here!

To show his mercy and tell of his ever lasting love!
This is why I am here!

To preach the good news, and lead the lost to him.
This is why I am here!

I must go and tell all who will listen; this is why God made me,
This is my mission.

This is why I am here!

Can 'THEY' Tell?

'THEY' can be coworkers, friends, family, strangers, neighbors, anyone...and more specifically-none Christ followers. I come to work everyday at a fairly new job and I always want to talk about God, and just see where people are at on their journey through life but I often chicken out. I think they can tell there is something "different" about me, (just by comments that are made) but I haven't brought up the subject of church or Christ that much. -This morning I was getting ready for work, and I was going to where my Lifechurch.tv shirt, and said to my husband, "no" i can't wear this to work, I could get fired. My husband said something I think we all need to hear and have in the back of our minds.

"In the Bible it talks about persecution. Today people think they are persecuted when someone makes fun of them or laughs cause they carry there Bible.
But persecution is really laying it all out there. It’s getting beaten for what you believe, mocked, ridiculed, risking your job, even laying down your life for what you believe!"-(husband)

SO I guess my challenge for everyone is: can 'THEY' tell your a Christ follower? Show the world who you follow and who you are in Christ. Even if it may mean your job! God provides...

AND YES-I did wear the shirt today! :)

The Wall of Prayers

Have you ever tried to pray or have been praying and you just feel for some reason that they aren't going anywhere? I mean, I know there is a God, and I have faith that he hears my prayers but for some reason when I have been praying lately, they just seem to get out of my head and just stick to a wall. Its a weird feeling... OR, I guess maybe I have been struggling lately with just praying in general. I know all the things to pray about, family, friends, the day, etc....but when I go pray I just cant find the words. I get frustrated, forget what I was thinking or wanting to pray about and then my mind wonders. Does anyone else deal with this?

I was reading my Bible, and it says in James 1:6, (talking about prayer and asking God for something), 'But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.' So I guess we need to pray expecting answers, and not in our time but in God's time.

But how do you get past the wall?
